Saturday 25 July 2015 - Colonsay - probably the smallest island to host a rugby tournament - will host the Fourth Colonsay Rugby Festival.
We hope to welcome new teams and also our returning teams:
Millburn Academy RFC
Have a look at our Facebook page to find out more about Festivals over the years and particularly see the pictures.
The first Festival took place on 28th of July 2012 and was a fantastic success. Four men's and two women's teams took party in a great weekend of rugby and dancing. The men's winners were Oban Lorne, the women's were the Warthogs from Edinburgh and Stirling.
The second Festival was another resounding success. Some outstanding rugby played, with 3 new teams attending. Ochalochs were the victors after a brilliant final vs. Lomond. The Warthogs were victors for the second year playing two fantastic games.
The third Festival in July 2014 was even better. The standard of rugby has increased year on year and the family feeling and island welcome continues to make the festival very special. The final between Coll RFC and Oban RFC was very close, with Oban winning. Coll are determined to return in 2015 to take the trophy.
See our Facebook page for photos of all the Festivals.
Dee Bradbury, President of Oban Lorne RFC: "Thanks for producing the most fabulous weekend of rugby. The entire weekend was full of hospitality, good spirit and great rugby."
Dave Beaumont, President of Strathendrick: "Great organisation, excellent banter between the teams, and a totally enjoyable atmosphere in a superb location, what more could we want?"
Note: If you are planning really far ahead, the 2016 Festival will be on 23 july 2016.
